🔻 UAE condemns Iran for attack on its oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates condemned Iran for an attack on a vessel belonging to its national oil company.

The attack took place on Friday as this tanker was passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a report by the UAE’s state news agency, Abu Dhabi Oil said the attack caused no deaths or injuries and that the situation is currently under control.

In a statement published on the social media platform X, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described targeting commercial ships and using the Strait of Hormuz to “exert pressure or economic extortion” as “the piracy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”

The ministry asked Iran to put an end to these attacks and called for the “full and unconditional reopening” of the Strait of Hormuz.

Based on reports by UAE media, an incident had occurred for two other vessels belonging to Abu Dhabi Oil that were transiting through the waterway on Thursday evening.
