U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday in an interview with Kambiz Toona, a journalist for Iran International, that financial intermediaries who work for the Islamic Republic “killer” can keep 30% of the assets they have at their disposal for the Iranian government if they cooperate with the United States. He offered those who are willing to leave the government a “way out.” Bessent said the United States has sanctioned many of these individuals, but anyone who cooperates with the U.S. will have their name removed from the sanctions list.
