Meir Javedanfar, an analyst of Israeli affairs, said that in the event of the fall of the Islamic Republic, diplomatic relations between Iran and Israel could be established quickly. In his view, Turkey and Qatar are concerned about such a development. Javedanfar added that despite the Islamic Republic’s hostility toward Israel, Israelis’ view of Iranians is positive, and the historical and cultural ties between the two nations remain important.

Javedanfar also said that Gadi Eisenkot, to form a government, needs an agreement with other parties, including Arab parties. According to him, the possible presence of Arab parties in the government could change Israel’s diplomatic profile, but political differences and the opposition of Haredi streams to mandatory military service would be among the important challenges for a potential Eisenkot government.
