U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday, 15 Mehr, at a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart that the Islamic Republic has missed multiple opportunities to reach an agreement with the United States regarding its nuclear program.
Rubio added: “The Islamic Republic will never obtain a nuclear weapon. Any agreement that is acceptable to the United States must ensure that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”
The U.S. foreign minister emphasized that Donald Trump sharply reduced the drone and missile capabilities of the Islamic Republic and dismantled its naval and air forces.
Rubio also said that the Islamic Republic is now militarily much weaker than in the past, and that it will not obtain nuclear weapons as long as Trump is the President of the United States.
The U.S. foreign minister added: “The Strait of Hormuz is open, and the amount of oil transferred through it has almost returned to the level prior to the start of the war. Iran has completely lost control of the strait, and Iran’s economy is on the brink of a very dire situation.”
