U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in an interview with Breitbart, called the Islamic Republic the “number one” source of instability and war and the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East, and said that without it, dealing with the issue of Palestine would be easier.
Rubio said Donald Trump has destroyed a large part of Iran’s military capabilities, including the navy, the air force, and missile and drone production factories, and that large parts of Iran are now vulnerable to possible future attacks.
He added that the Islamic Republic has lost control of the Strait of Hormuz and that over the past 10 days, on average, 13 to 14 million barrels of oil have passed daily through this strait. Rubio also said that U.S. sanctions and the blockade reduce the Islamic Republic’s financial resources for Hezbollah, Hamas, Iraqi militias, and its nuclear program.
