U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) denied reports about the deaths of seven sailors in a physical altercation aboard the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln,” and the increase in suicide-related thoughts among the crew of this carrier.

In a statement, CENTCOM said none of the personnel stationed on the carrier had lost their lives. According to the organization, the only sailor who fell overboard on August 3 (12 Mordad) was quickly and safely rescued.

The statement said the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, after more than 260 days at sea, carrying out 10,000 sorties and using 1.5 million pounds of munitions, continues to carry out its mission.

CENTCOM also announced that the crew’s service extension rate is 84.4 percent and is among the highest rates among U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The organization described the publication of incorrect reports about the USS Abraham Lincoln’s mission as an action against the military personnel and their families.
