The Israeli Army and the country’s internal security service, Shin Bet, announced that Jamal Mahmoud Abukmeel, a Hamas commander who participated in the October 7 attack on Israel, was killed on Thursday, 21 Mordad, in an airstrike on Gaza.
In a joint statement, the Israeli Army and Shin Bet said Abukmeel had a role throughout the war, as well as in recent weeks, in planning attacks against Israeli forces and the country’s citizens, and was targeted by the airstrike for “removing a threat.”
Israel’s Channel 12 had previously reported that one of Hamas’s commanders in Gaza was killed in a drone strike while riding a motorcycle.
