Trump: Maybe after the war in Iran we will stay and take the country’s oil like Venezuela

🔸Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, that the United States may stay in Iran after the war and “take” the country’s oil reserves like Venezuela.

🔸Speaking with reporters during his trip to Ireland and his participation in the “Irish Open” golf tournament, Trump said: “The Iran war will end right after the midterm election; maybe even before that, but it will end after the election. The price of gasoline will fall like a stone.”

🔸The U.S. president first mentioned the period after the U.S. midterm elections as the time for the end of the war with Iran on 18 Shahrivar, and since then has repeated it on several other occasions.

🔸On Sunday, he also said Iran is strongly seeking to reach an agreement and has repeatedly contacted the United States. Trump explained: “Iran really wants to make a deal. They keep calling. They want to make a deal. But the deal has to be a right one. I’m not going to accept a deal that isn’t good.”

🔸Islamic Republic officials have rejected the resumption of talks with the United States in recent weeks, but last week the Iranian president said that if the United States returns to the Islamabad understandings, Tehran would also be willing to resume its commitments.

🔸In remarks to reporters in Ireland, the U.S. president also raised another option: continuing the presence and staying engaged in Iran. He compared this situation to the U.S. deal regarding Venezuela that was announced last month.
