Many more people died from COVID during the Biden administration than during the Trump administration. “Operation Warp Speed” was an extraordinary success; in fact, many say it was one of the most successful actions ever taken by an American president. I acted differently from Fauci in this regard. His ideas were crazy! Also, from the very beginning I said that the virus came from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. Fauci strongly opposed this and always tried to protect China. I inherited Fauci; someone who had been in this position since the 1980s, but with each passing day, I relied on him less and less. He made a lot of bad decisions, like the mask issue. Remember that at first he was against using masks. Then he turned into a die-hard supporter of masks. In any case, I didn’t allow him to shut the country down, despite the fact that he wanted to. I took a federalist approach and let governors decide. Republican governors performed much better than Democrats. Fauci had largely disappeared from the scene, and then drowsy Joe Biden arrived and turned Fauci into a “king.” I called Biden to tell him that Fauci was not good; either he had no understanding of the matter, or he was not honest. That call was met with approval, but unfortunately there was no follow-up action. Biden then went on to give Fauci broad, destructive power. The rest is history!
