🔻Trump: By building several oil pipeline lines, the Strait of Hormuz will lose its importance
Donald Trump, the U.S. president, earlier reiterated the importance of an open Strait of Hormuz.
Answering a question about the status of new sanctions against Iran, Trump called the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz “very effective” and said that for some time no vessels have gone from the Strait of Hormuz toward Iran.
He said of Iranian officials: “They tell us one thing and do another.”
Trump said that Iranian officials had expected that with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the price of oil would reach $350 per barrel, while today it is between $84 and $85, and that the United States is exporting a significant amount of oil from the Strait of Hormuz.
He pointed to the unprecedented construction of oil pipeline lines in several regions and said he believes the Strait of Hormuz will lose its importance in the future.
