Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has decreased because most vessel owners are avoiding it due to lack of a clear sign regarding the reopening of this waterway after the blockade.
Based on data from Kepler, six commercial vessels transited the strait on Tuesday, fewer than the nine vessels that passed the day before and below the daily average of 11 vessels over the past 10 days.
The U.S. Energy Minister, however, says private companies conduct counts based on radio signals, while ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz escorted by the U.S. and with their tracking systems turned off, making it impossible to count them.
