Today, the “Peace Committee” reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a major and momentous step toward peace and lasting security. This agreement is a vital step so that Gaza can finally be administered by a new Palestinian state; a state that will work closely with the Peace Committee to help the Palestinian people. At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves, and Gaza will no longer be used as a base for terrorist attacks. This is an important turning point in the implementation of “Trump’s 20-Point Plan.” This agreement will be carried out in several phases with a precise structure. With the completion of the disarmament process, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the “International Stabilization Force,” together with a new Palestinian police force, will take responsibility for ensuring that Gaza is safe for its residents and its neighbors. A year ago, there was a violent and widespread war, a humanitarian crisis, and hostages being held in brutal captivity. We have made historic progress, and there is still much work to be done. I want to thank the mediators — Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey — for their important efforts; and especially my own excellent team, whose tireless efforts made this historic achievement possible. The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild! Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be handed over to a new Palestinian state that will serve its people. Congratulations to everyone on this amazing development — a development that everyone said would never be achievable!
