The Washington Post reported that the U.S. Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has increased the official number of American servicemembers killed in operations against the Islamic Republic to 21. The change was made after two non-combat deaths were added to the official figures.

According to this report, one of these people was Surphley DeVious, a 46-year-old major in the U.S. Army National Guard, who died in Kuwait on 15 Esfand 1404. The second was also a member of the U.S. Navy, who took his own life in Shahrivar.

The Washington Post also wrote that the number of American servicemembers injured in operations related to the war in Iran has reached 865.

Earlier, the newspaper, in an exclusive report quoting six American officials, wrote that the number of deaths is higher than the Pentagon’s official figures.
