The U.S. State Department, citing the risk of rapid escalation of tensions and continued fighting between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, urged its citizens in nine Middle Eastern countries to “be more alert.” The ministry also warned of the possibility of flight cancellations, the closure of airspace, and other disruptions in travel to these countries.

This security alert was issued in connection with Iraq, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Jordan.
