The U.S. representative to the United Nations said at a meeting of the Security Council that “Houthi terrorist actions undermine regional stability,” and referred to the group’s recent missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia.

He said that in these attacks more than 90 people, mostly civilians, were injured, adding that these attacks are another example of the Houthis ignoring the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia and endangering civilians.

The U.S. representative emphasized Washington’s support for the Yemeni government and called for the Houthis to stop their advance, withdraw from areas under their control, and end their attacks.

He also accused the Islamic Republic of arming, financing, and directing the Houthis, and said that ending this support is necessary to counter the threats posed by the group.

The U.S. official urged the Security Council to ensure effective implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and the cessation of the transfer of weapons, training, financing, and other assistance to the Houthis. He said the United States will continue to cooperate with its partners to support regional stability.
