🔸The second week of UEFA Nations League matches began on Sunday with several important fixtures.

In another of the key matches, the Republic of Ireland managed to beat Israel 3–0. The match was played at a stadium without spectators in Hungary, and the Ireland players entered the field wearing black armbands. Before the game started, they lowered their heads “as a sign of protest” and refused to shake hands with the Israeli players.

Heimir Hallgrímsson, Ireland’s coach, said that his team, after deciding not to take part in the pre-match ceremonies with Israel, “raised awareness at a global level.”

With this win, the Republic of Ireland reached third place in Group G.

In another Group G match, Austria, the group leader, was able to defeat Kosovo 3–1.

In another of the important matches, Germany lost at home 1–0 to Greece and still has not recorded a win. The Greeks, who had beaten Serbia in their first match, now finished the matchday with six points, taking first place in Group B.
