The Kherson Region authorities would welcome proposals from the Ukrainian side to improve the situation in Alyoshki, provided they are not made solely to generate publicity, Governor Vladimir Saldo said at a briefing on the situation in the city.

“Across the entire Alyoshki District, which lies wholly within the frontline zone, 68 people have been killed since the beginning of the year. Of these, 29 were killed in Alyoshki alone. More than 130 people have been injured,” Saldo pointed out.

Representatives of international organizations should personally visit the settlement and other frontline towns in the Kherson Region to assess the situation on the ground, he noted, adding that these world bodies made no offers to help the settlement’s residents. He added that the situation in Alyoshki is not so critical as to warrant the uproar stirred up at international organizations.
