The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic said that the conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz were set by the leader of this government, and that their implementation is necessary for reopening.

At the end of his trip to New York, Abbas Araghchi said these conditions were communicated to the United States and other relevant countries. He added that one of the Qatari intermediaries met with the delegation of the Islamic Republic on Monday and discussed ways to realize the conditions.

These views are expected to be conveyed once again to the American side, and the final response will be announced through the Qatari intermediary.

On Sunday, Mike Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said Washington rejected the proposal because it was accompanied by a request for access to billions of dollars in frozen assets and the lifting of sanctions.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that mediators, to revive talks, are asking the Islamic Republic to make concessions in its nuclear program.
