The Bus Workers’ Union of Tehran and the Suburbs, with the publication of a statement, called for an end to executions in Iran. In part of the statement, it says: “The rulers once again respond to the people’s demands for bread, work, justice, freedom, and human dignity with the most brutal tools of fear and terror: the gallows.” In another part of the statement, the Bus Workers’ Union says: “We condemn all political executions and show trials and immediate courts. The allegations raised against political prisoners, social activists, women, students, teachers, young people, and protesting workers are scenario-making that, especially in wartime conditions and even without observing the existing legal procedures, are carried forward by these laws. A prisoner, whether political or ordinary, has fundamental rights that unfortunately are constantly violated in our country.”
