🔻 Telephone conversation between Saudi Crown Prince and France’s president about security in the Middle East

According to Saudi Arabia’s official news agency, Mohammed bin Salman, the country’s crown prince, spoke by phone with Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, about the situation in the Middle East and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

Based on this report, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on joint efforts to strengthen stability and establish security in the region, in response to the Houthi attacks in Yemen targeting objectives in Saudi Arabia.

In recent days, military clashes between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi rebels—which are supported by Iran—have increased, and the group has announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia.
