🔻Tasnim News Agency, quoting Commander Zahedi, deputy of general military service, wrote that “Alireza Beiranvand will become a conscript starting in Mehr 1405 and will no longer have the possibility to play for Tractor.” The status of Alireza Beiranvand’s conscription in recent years has been one of the ambiguities and controversies in Iranian football.
🔹Last night, Fars News Agency had reported that Alireza Beiranvand, the number one goalkeeper of the national team and Tractor, would be one of the major adult quotas of the Iran U-23 team in the Asian Games in Nagoya.
🔹Three weeks ago, Mehdi Alinژad, the secretary-general of the National Olympic Committee, announced that medal winners at the Asian Games, if they are subject to conscription, are exempt from military service under the law “champion conscript,” regardless of the color of the medal. A mechanism that could have exempted the number one goalkeeper of the national team from conscription.
🔹But Tasnim News Agency wrote that Iran’s U-23 team, according to the regulations of the Asian Games, had to submit its initial list of 50 people to the Asian Olympic Council in advance, and Beiranvand’s name is not on that list. Therefore, even if the Football Federation and the technical staff were to agree, the competition rules do not allow his addition to Iran’s U-23 team in Nagoya.
