🔺 Shin Bet emphasizes foreign involvement in Israel’s elections; Ben-Gvir calls for the arrest of leaders of Arab parties
▪ Shin Bet told Israel’s Central Elections Committee that information gathered about the inflow of money from foreign countries indicates attempts to influence the election, and that this activity may involve “thousands of people, perhaps more.”
▪ At the same time, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s Minister of National Security, asked David Zini to interrogate the leaders of Arab parties in “Shin Bet’s underground cells” without the approval of the attorney general.
▪ He said the election was “stolen” and demanded an immediate halt to the certification of results.
▪ After reviewing the minutes from polling station 9069, the Central Elections Committee announced that no violation that could have changed the results was found. The committee’s presiding board approved the results early this day.
