According to this report, the fired missile flew for about 700 kilometers and then landed in the sea. The joint US–South Korea exercises are set to be held from August 17 to 27.

This launch is considered the 11th suspected ballistic missile test by North Korea in 2026. South Korean analysts have suggested that the fired missile may have been hypersonic.
