Reuters:

Trump is seeking to increase economic pressure on Iran, and even the option of a land blockade has been discussed; an action that would require cooperation from Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

Reuters says carrying out such a blockade would be very difficult and it is unclear whether it could create significant internal pressure.

Also, since the beginning of Trump’s second presidential term, the United States has sanctioned more than 1,000 people, ships, and aircraft.
