An American P-8 aircraft is patrolling near the Maldives islands, while large Iranian oil tankers (VLCC) are present near Sri Lanka. This is happening while there is a possibility that these ships could be stopped and inspected by U.S. forces. The area is the same region where it is said that a U.S. submarine sank an Iranian ship.
