🔶 Popular Mobilization Forces: At least 20 people were killed in attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on Iraq

The Popular Mobilization Forces coalition, close to the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Iraq announced that, as a result of joint attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on the positions of this force, at least 20 people were killed and another 32 were injured.

The Popular Mobilization Forces, in a statement, said these casualties—based on initial figures—were recorded following an attack on the bases of this force in seven provinces of Iraq.

At the same time, the Iraqi group “Harakat Hizbollah al-Nujaba,” which is considered among the Iran-supported groups, warned in response to these attacks that the interests and security of the United States and Saudi Arabia would face “consequences.”

The Popular Mobilization Forces is a coalition of armed groups, mainly Shiite, formed in 2014 to fight ISIS in Iraq. This force was later recognized by Iraq’s parliament as part of the country’s official armed forces and also includes a number of Iran-linked groups.

Following drone attacks from Iraq’s soil to Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, Iraq’s prime minister, ordered an investigation into these attacks and said that Baghdad will not allow Iraq’s soil to be used to attack neighboring countries.
