People’s Report: Protest Against Overt Theft and Poor Internet Quality of the Clerics’ Operators
People inside the country say they are truly fed up with the blatant plundering by mobile operators, especially Irancell. People say phone charges run out too quickly, and they are forced to renew so-called monthly packages once a week or even sooner.
Operators have drastically reduced the amount of data in their packages; for example, they cut a 10-gigabyte package down to 6 gigabytes, but doubled its price. Worse than this extortion is severe filtering and low network speed, which even prevents people from posting a simple story on Instagram.
Our duty abroad is to bring the voice of this suffocation and economic exploitation to the world’s media.
