Pakistan’s prime minister, in a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and stressed Islamabad’s full support for the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan said that on Thursday, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in the call with Muhammad bin Salman, while expressing complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia, described the attacks carried out by Houthi militants against the country’s oil tankers in the Red Sea as “unacceptable” and in violation of international law.

Sharif said that such actions threaten freedom of navigation and maritime commercial transport and endanger peace, security, and regional stability.

The prime minister of Pakistan also emphasized the continuation of close cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the international community to maintain security and ensure the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime trade in the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and the wider region.
