🔻Pakistan’s interior minister will travel to Iran on Sunday
Ismail Baqaii, a spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Mohsen Naqvi, Pakistan’s interior minister, will travel to Tehran on Sunday (tomorrow).
He described the trip as a meeting focused on bilateral relations and centered on previous agreements between the two countries, and said he is not aware of any specific message or proposal from the United States that is meant to be conveyed during this trip.
However, the meeting is taking place as Tehran, amid ongoing clashes and a rise in regional tensions, has set conditions for resuming talks with Washington.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview with Al Jazeera that Tehran has conveyed its conditions for negotiations to the United States through mediators in Qatar and Pakistan, and is now “waiting for the response of President Trump.”
