Pakistan’s defense minister said his country will use “any means available” to defend Saudi Arabia against Houthi attacks.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Tuesday that Pakistan’s military capabilities will be made available to Riyadh under a new joint defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey. He added: “Any enemy of Saudi Arabia is an enemy of Pakistan. This must be made completely clear.”

Asif declined to answer the question of whether Pakistani forces have taken part in airstrikes so far.

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey signed the joint defense pact for Mecca on Mordad 16 and said that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all three. The fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis is the first test of the alliance.
