🔻 Netanyahu criticizes Emmanuel Macron over criticism of Israel’s actions in the West Bank

The Israeli prime minister criticized Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, for criticizing Israel’s actions in the occupied West Bank during his speech at the UN General Assembly.

Mr. Macron had said that these actions were being carried out while Hamas was not active in the West Bank. But Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas carried out multiple attacks in this area and described the French president’s remarks as “ridiculous, pointless.”

Relations between France and Israel have, at times, been quite tense in recent years..

France’s support for a two-state solution and its criticism of the Israeli government for its actions in Gaza have drawn criticism from Israeli officials.
