Mehdi Eghrariyan, a member of Tehran City Council, said that Alireza Zakani, the mayor of Tehran, in 1402 promised: “We want to break the back of housing prices.” But the back of housing prices was not broken; instead, the back of the people was broken under the burden of rising housing prices and rent.

He added: “If any compact construction is going to be carried out in the complexes that have been acquired and taken over by the municipality, it would be better not to expropriate the barracks and to keep them in the same use.”

This member of Tehran City Council added that if responses to the reminders are not provided, he will initiate a question session with the mayor.
