👉 The mediator of the negotiations was officially turned into a broker

An Australian company, Woodside Energy, has announced that, based on a 20-year agreement, it will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the company “QatarEnergy.”

This contract is a form of brokerage, and the Qataris have decided that, in a situation in which they cannot export gas due to the Strait of Hormuz being closed, they will deliver the Australian company’s gas to their customers.

The Qataris’ contract with the Australian company is for 20 years and shows that Qatar considers the risks arising from restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz to be a long-term issue.

Qatar’s move to address the problem of restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz has drawn attention in many American media outlets, including Bloomberg.
