🔸 NATO Secretary General: US night attacks on Iran were completely necessary Mark Rutte, the NATO secretary general, described US night attacks on Iran as “completely necessary” and said the attacks were carried out in response to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire. Rutte, before a meeting of NATO leaders in Ankara, told reporters that if, under ceasefire conditions, Iran were to violate it, the United States’ firm response would be “completely necessary.” The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on Wednesday morning, 17 Tir (July 8) that more than 80 targets in Iran were attacked using precision-guided munitions. CENTCOM’s attack on these targets was in retaliation for attacks that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz the day before. After the American forces’ strike, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also announced that it had attacked 85 targets in Arab countries in the Gulf region with missiles and drones.
