🔻Marine incident for an oil tanker near the coasts of Oman

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organization has said it received a report of a maritime incident 20 nautical miles northeast of Al Masirah, Oman.

According to the statement released on Sunday, the captain of an oil tanker reported that an explosion sound was heard at a very close distance to this vessel.

The statement said the ship and all crew members are safe, and the relevant authorities are investigating the incident.

UK Maritime Trade Operations has advised passing ships to transit the area with caution and to report any suspicious activity to this organization.

The incident occurred at the same time as diplomatic efforts intensified to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table, and amid telephone consultations among the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United States, Iran, and Pakistan.
