One week after the attack on Ukraine, the crew and sailors killed aboard the Anna ship were returned to Iran.

According to ISNA, the aircraft carrying them landed on Sunday evening at Rasht airport, where a group of families and officials from Gilan welcomed them.

The deceased sailor from the ship was transferred to Anzali Port for the purpose of mourning and burial, his hometown.

One week ago, the Anna ship was targeted by an attack in the Caspian Sea by Ukraine.

At the time, Ukraine said it had targeted two Russian vessels that had played a role in transporting military cargoes related to Iran in the Caspian Sea. However, Iran said the Anna ship was entirely civilian and was not carrying any military cargo.

A few days later, Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, said that the foreign minister of Ukraine, during a telephone call, had assured him that the attack on the Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea was not intentional and that Ukraine was not seeking to escalate tensions.
