Kamran Ghaednefari, a representative of Tehran in parliament, in response to a question about the possibility of the Islamic Republic obtaining nuclear weapons, told the Iran Watch website: “It can be assumed that we may already have achieved this capability, and if the United States and Israel threaten us with the use of nuclear weapons, they should know that in return we will act against them with such weapons.”
This member of parliament added on Tuesday, 12 Bahman: “If the United States takes action against us from bases in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, then we have the capability to respond to them in Europe and on American soil.”
He said: “For a long time now, we have been making long-range missiles, so-called intercontinental missiles. Our missiles have the capability to be fired to the farthest corners of the world. And Europe, which is right at our doorstep, too—we even have intercontinental missiles that reach the United States.”
While threatening European countries, Ghaednefari continued: “From now on, European countries must take into account that, in addition to the economic pressures that are imposed on them through the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, we will also deliver military strikes to them inside their own territory.”
