🔻Cyber criminals who hacked the Federal Police of the United States (FBI) say they have gained access to highly sensitive medical information for thousands of special agents. BBC News has seen examples of stolen medical examinations used to assess “fitness for work,” which include information such as the results of blood and urine tests and doctors’ reports on illnesses such as “allergy to shellfish and bananas.” These records include the agents’ full names and addresses, as well as references to medical concerns including “blood in the urine” and “high cholesterol.” Experts say this hack, which the FBI is investigating, could make agents vulnerable to fraud, extortion, and targeted attacks, and could help criminals impersonate law enforcement. Itaay Maur, deputy head of the intelligence threats division at Cato Networks, said: “This list discloses the medical records and medical information related to the jobs of thousands of FBI agents.”
