The Israeli Knesset Finance Committee approved budget transfers that brought the 2026 budget of the Ministry of Settlement and National Missions to a record $242 million, reinforcing the government’s policy to expand Israeli settlements in its occupied West Bank.

On August 5, Israel’s Supreme Court temporarily halted the disputed transfers to determine whether the committee was formed legally during the election holidays.
