ISNA reported on Sunday, 11 Mordad, citing the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic in Astrakhan, that the body of the deceased sailor from the commercial ship “Ana,” which was targeted by the Ukrainian army in the Caspian Sea on 3 Mordad, has been returned to Iran.

According to this report, eight crew members of the ship, along with its owner, also returned from Astrakhan, Russia, to Rasht.

ISNA wrote that the crew’s identity documents had been destroyed or lost during the Ukrainian army’s attack, and that the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic in Astrakhan, after carrying out “legal procedures, investigations, and obtaining the necessary permits from Russian authorities,” issued transit documents for them.
