🔻 Iraq is reopening border crossings with Iran

A state news agency in Iraq reported that traffic through three border crossings with Iran—those that were closed after a drone attack on the East-West oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia—is being resumed.

According to this report, passenger traffic today will resume at Al-Shayb crossing in Maysan Province, which is referred to in Iran as Chazabeh, as well as at Shalamcheh crossing in Basra Province, and commercial activities will also be restored toward the end of this week.

At the Mandali crossing in Diyala Province, which in Iran is called the Third Marz border terminal, commercial activity will resume starting Tuesday.

Yesterday, Saturday, after identifying the location from which the drone was launched from Iraqi territory to Saudi Arabia, the Iraqi government temporarily closed the border crossings with Iran.
