The Iranian state broadcaster reported on Thursday, 9 Mehr, that Britain’s ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry following comments by Andy Burnham, the prime minister of Britain, about the role of the Islamic Republic in the Farford airbase incident.

Burnham had previously said there were “strong indications” of the Iranian government’s role in the incident.

According to the state broadcaster, Majid Takht Ravanchi, deputy foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, rejected these remarks in a meeting with the British ambassador and conveyed Tehran’s protest to him. Takht Ravanchi also asked the British government for an official explanation regarding the matter.
