🔸Iran’s Statistical Center, in its latest report, announced the point-to-point inflation rate—that is, the percentage change in the price index compared to the same period of the previous year in this month—as 87.9 percent.

🔸This figure means that prices of nearly twice the range of identical goods and services in a similar month over the past year have become more expensive in Iran.

🔸The Statistical Center also reported the annual inflation rate from Tir (July) of last year to the end of Tir (July) of the current year as 66 percent. Previously, the Central Bank had cited this rate as 62 percent.

🔸In recent weeks, a number of economists in Iran have warned that the inflation rate is rising and said that reaching above 100 percent could be an indication of the emergence of hyperinflation.
