🔸Iran’s judiciary rejected on Sunday reports about the “lifting of the seizure” of the assets of Sardar Azmoun, a former member of Iran’s national football team.

🔸During the 40-day war, Iranian judicial officials had reported the seizure of the assets of this prominent footballer following the publication of a photo with Sheikh Mohammad, Amir of Dubai.

🔸Sardar Azmoun was also removed from Iran’s national football team and was unable to take part in the 2026 World Cup.

🔸In a recent announcement from the judiciary’s media center that was published in Iranian media, it states: “After a photo was published on Sardar Azmoun’s account in the sensitive wartime conditions of the country… by a judicial order, the assets related to Sardar Azmoun and some of his first-degree relatives were seized.”

🔸The announcement says that the assets his relatives had bought with “the origin of their own money” had their seizure lifted, and it adds that “the assets of Sardar Azmoun remained in their previous status, meaning they remained seized.”

🔸The Iranian attacker for Al Shabab Al Ahli of the UAE, after the publication of reports about the seizure of his assets and his removal from the national football team, had said: “Wherever I play football, my identity, my heart, and my pride is Iran.”
