Iran’s foreign minister met with the secretary-general of the Arab League on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Based on a statement by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian’s successor Abbas Araghchi, in a meeting with Nabil Fahmy, called for increased interaction between Iran and Arab countries. So far, the Arab League has not released any report on this meeting.

In a meeting with the United Nations secretary-general in Farvardin, Fahmy had said that the Islamic Republic’s attacks on Arab countries “have no justification,” and called for a resolution in the UN Security Council to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
