Iran Human Rights Campaign said in a report that the Islamic Republic, after the protests in Dey 1404, launched a widespread campaign to crack down on teachers and labor activists.

According to this report, by August 6, 1405, at least 60 teachers have been detained, imprisoned, or faced judicial sentences, although the organization emphasized that the actual figures are likely higher.

The report also points to cases of arbitrary arrests, long-term detention in solitary confinement, deprivation of access to a lawyer and medical services, and the issuance of prison sentences, flogging, and exile for teachers. Iran Human Rights Campaign has asked international institutions, including UNESCO, the International Labour Organization, and the UN human rights mechanisms, to follow up on the status of the detained teachers and to exert pressure on the Islamic Republic.
