America announced new sanctions against the Islamic Republic and the designation of eight oil tankers and 10 entities associated with Tehran on the sanctions list.
Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said the economy of the Islamic Republic is in “free fall,” and that despite the severe need for liquidity, the United States will not allow the Islamic Republic to use international shipping to finance terrorism, aggressive actions, and the suppression of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
