Iran Human Rights Campaign reported on Thursday, the first of Mordad, that Ehad Shekhanian, one of the protesters detained during the protests of December 1404, who is being held in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, has been sentenced to three times execution by Eiman Afsari, head of Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.

According to this report, Shekhanian, a 38-year-old citizen, was arrested on 25 Dey 1404 in Pakdasht, Tehran, and his verdict was issued based on charges including “participation in two counts of intentional murder,” “action against national security in accordance with calls by hostile groups,” “assembly and collusion to act against national security,” and “destruction of public property with the intent to confront the Islamic Republic system.”

Iran Human Rights Campaign stated that Shekhanian was the third defendant in the case file, and that the Forensic Medicine Authority has also confirmed that, due to severe asthma, he was unable to perform heavy physical activities.

According to the report, during his detention Shekhanian was not given access to his chosen lawyer, and his assigned lawyer only appeared in one court session. The evidence presented by his chosen lawyer was also ignored at the appeal stage.

The organization added that the other 12 defendants in the same case were also sentenced to one or more executions.
