Inchcape Shipping company announced on Wednesday, 7 Mordad, that an explosion occurred during the unloading of the cargo at the liquefied natural gas terminal at Port Damietta in Egypt.

The company added that the ships involved in the incident have left the port and that activities at other jetties and terminals are expected to resume from tonight.

Two security sources told Reuters that it is possible that drones targeted gas storage tankers at the port of Damietta.

Ambrey, a maritime security company, also announced that an LNG (liquefied natural gas) floating storage unit, owned and operated by the United States and flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was hit by at least one drone while it was present at the port of Damietta.
