Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran’s foreign minister, said on the sidelines of the National Security Commission meeting of the parliament: “There has been no meeting with a U.S. delegation, and no meeting has been planned.”
On Sunday, 10 Aban, he added: “The Iranian delegation’s trip to Qatar was carried out in order to continue contacts and consultations with Qatari intermediaries.”
He continued: “We are currently at a stage where, regarding our own plan—the seven-day plan that has now become a two-day plan—we are engaging in consultations through intermediaries.”
The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic said that Qatari intermediaries were in Tehran, and after they left, my deputy also went to Qatar so that consultations there could continue and so that he could convey the matters to me, and he is returning today.
Iraqchi said: “The result is that this process is ongoing and consultations are being carried out; but we have still not reached a definitive outcome. Whether we reach a result or not depends on the answers to many questions that have not yet been answered.”
